About STIEBEL ELTRON
STIEBEL ELTRON, founded in 1924, is one of the leading companies in the market for renewable energies, heating and building technology with an annual turnover of over one billion euros. As an innovation-driven family business, STIEBEL ELTRON follows a clear line in the production and development of products – for environmentally friendly, efficient and convenient HVAC technology. With around 6,000 employees worldwide, the company consistently relies on its own expertise from product development to production.
The result is efficient and innovative solutions for hot water, heating, ventilation and cooling. STIEBEL ELTRON produces at its main site in Holzminden in Lower Saxony, in Höxter (NRW), in Hameln (NDS), in Freudenberg (NRW) and in Eschwege (Hessen) as well as at five other sites abroad (Arvika/Sweden, Tianjin/China, Ayutthaya/Thailand, Poprad/Slovakia, West Hatfield, Massachusetts/USA).
Why STIEBEL ELTRON uses dBEL.HVAC
According to STIEBEL ELTRON, during sales discussions it repeatedly becomes clear that concerns about noise are one of the biggest obstacles when deciding on an externally installed air-to-water heat pump. Of course, the best way to counter this concern is with facts – in other words, with detailed calculations.
STIEBEL ELTRON has therefore been using dBEL.HVAC since January 2024. The cloud application, which is adapted to the individual needs of the heat pump manufacturer, enables partners from Germany to create well-founded noise forecasts with just a few clicks. The roll-out to other markets – such as Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg – is already being planned.
How STIEBEL ELTRON uses dBEL.HVAC
dBEL.HVAC is directly integrated into the STIEBEL ELTRON Online Configurator and has been adapted to the company's corporate design. The expert knowledge required for a well-founded calculation is provided directly in the tool: “Ready to use” geomodels and calculation methods are integrated. In addition, Wölfel's specialist engineers created sound-emitting 3D models of the heat pumps.
This simplifies noise forecasting for STIEBEL ELTRON sales staff and trade partners. They can enter the address of the respective project location directly when talking to people interested in heat pumps and place the heat pump models in the planned environment using drag & drop. dBEL.HVAC then creates the forecast and a corresponding noise map.
“Thanks to the color scheme, we and our customers can see at a glance whether everything is within the requirements.”
Frank Röder, Head of Planning and Training at STIEBEL ELTRON
The specific advantages STIEBEL ELTRON achieves with dBEL.HVAC
After all, almost all manufacturers claim that their heat pumps are “quiet”. With dBEL.HVAC, STIEBEL ELTRON has the opportunity to prove this for its systems:
“The biggest advantage for us is that we can now visualize the acoustic benefits of our heat pumps thanks to dBEL.HVAC – this is a huge benefit in sales discussions with prospective customers. The conformity of the forecast with all applicable standards creates trust and the noise maps make the results understandable for everyone.”
Frank Röder, Head of Planning and Training at STIEBEL ELTRON
